The Astronomy Friends Club (RASTRO) is a student club that serves as a platform for students of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) to explore, learn, and deepen their knowledge of astronomy and space science. The club promotes interest in astronomy through various educational, observational, and scientific exploration activities.

RASTRO provides members with opportunities to gain practical experience through activities such as telescope observations, constellation identification, astronomical phenomenon observations, astronomy workshops, knowledge-sharing sessions, and STEM education programmes. These activities also help develop students’ communication, teamwork, leadership, and scientific thinking skills.

Through its involvement in astronomy and STEM programmes, RASTRO plays an important role in fostering a culture of science, strengthening astronomy literacy, and bringing space science closer to the community and the public. The club also supports the efforts of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), UPSI, in nurturing a generation that is knowledgeable, creative, and competitive in science and education.
